Huddersfield and Wolves at the front of the queue for Middlesbrough winger

Premier League clubs Huddersfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers are battling to sign highly sought after Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, according to The Sun.

Boro boss Tony Pulis faces a battle to keep hold of his star man ahead of next seasons Championship campaign.

However, the former Crystal Palace boss may consider selling his star asset in order to raise funds to mount another promotion push.

Traore has a release clause of £18m at the Riverside stadium, and any club that meets that valuation can begin to discuss personal terms with the Spaniard.

Middlesbrough reached the Playoff Semi Finals last campaign, however the Teesiders failed to advance to Wembley after defeat to Aston Villa.

The 22 year old played a key role in Boro’s successful season last time out, scoring 5 goals as well as registering 10 assists.

His pace and trickery are the main aspects of his game, and his performances last season have caught the eye of both Huddersfield and newly promoted Wolves.

Traore joined the club from Aston Villa in 2016 and has gone on to make 61 appearances for Middlesbrough.

He made 27 appearances in the top flight under Aitor Karanka and gained top flight experience with Aston Villa as well.

Wolves have already flexed their financial muscles in the transfer window with the signings of Rui Patricio and Raul Jimenez.

Now Nuno has set his sights on the former Spanish youth International.

Huddersfield surpassed expectations last season as the Terriers consolidated their place in the top flight under David Wagner.

The club are now looking to avoid a relegation battle next season and want to bolster their squad with the signing of Traore.

The winger is currently undergoing pre season with Middlesbrough, but it still remains unclear as to whether he will be playing in the Championship next season.
