Peterborough United chairman adamant key winger isn’t leaving

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony is adamant this key winger Gwion Edwards isn’t leaving the club, he says on Twitter.

Peterborough United winger Gwion Edwards has been subject to a host of interest over the past few months but Peterborough United chairman is adamant that the winger is going nowhere.

Darragh MacAnthony tweeted: “£200k my sides are splitting. Gwion is not for sale

Edwards scored seven goals and provided five assists in 33 games for Peterborough United last season, and has gained the reputation as one of the brightest attacking talents in League One and has certainly caught the eye.

About Gwion Edwards –

Gwion Edwards joined Peterborough United from Crawley Town in the summer of 2016.

The winger was arguably the stand out performer for Peterborough United during the 2016-2017 season and it was a huge blow to the club and for himself when he was ruled out with a knee injury at the start of 2017.

Gwion Edwards has pace to burn and has an eye for a spectactular goals.

He scored a fine individual goal against Charlton Athletic at the Valley and a wonderful strike from distance against Chesterfield at the ABAX Stadium and has firmly established as a fans favourite at Peterborough United.

Edwards has featured in the Wales under-19 team twice against Scotland and Slovenia. In September 2012, he made his Wales under-21 debut in a 5–0 defeat by the Czech Republic. Edwards was called into the Welsh senior squad for the first time in March 2017 but had to withdraw due to injury.
