Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Gil Bastiao Dias on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, confirmed by the club website.

Gil Bastiao Dias is a Portugal Under-21 international winger, who spent the last season on loan to Serie A side Fiorentina. He made 28 appearances which includes playing games against Italian giants Juventus, Roma and AC Milan.

It’s loan deal but there is an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the 2018-19 season, if Nottingham Forest decide to do so.

Gil Bastiao Dias has become the fourth signing of the summer for Nottingham Forest, joining Michael Dawson, João Carvalho and Diogo Gonçalves.

Carvalho, 21, played eight games for Benfica in 2017-18 and has signed a five-year contract at the City ground.

The loan deal for exciting winger Goncalves, also 21, includes an option to buy at the end of his loan spell.

Carvalho’s transfer fee eclipses Nottingham Forest’s previous record transfer fee, which was for striker Britt Assombalonga, who joined from Peterborough for £5.5m in August 2014.
