Nottingham Forest’s three main transfer targets named

Daily Mirror Sports Journalist James Nursey has tweeted to suggest Nottingham Forest are interested in pursuing three main targets for the upcoming season and with all three being strikers, it’s unclear whether they are looking for just one of the players, or multiple signings ahead of the new season.

It appears that Patrick Bamford, Jack Marriott and Martyn Waghorn are the three strikers which Forest are interested in signing, although it’s unclear as to whether one of these strikers takes priority over the others.

Marriott would more than likely be the most expensive deal alongside Bamford with both players being young and still offering a lot of promise, but with Waghorn being in his late 20’s, he could be a cut-price alternative for Aitor Karanka’s Forest.

The Mirror have reported that Nottingham Forst’s Daryl Murphy is reported to be allowed to leave, but Karanka supposedly wants Bamford or one of his other targets in, if he is to let the 35-year-old striker leave the City Ground.

It’s thought that Nottingham Forest are to be strong promotion contenders for this season and with the Reds receiving huge backing from their owners, they could be prepared to spend big in order to bring their main targets into the club. None of their targets will come on the cheap, but to start a promotion push, you need the best players possible and more often than not, they don’t come cheap.
