The breaking news is that Jack Wilshere is to leave Arsenal after 17 years with the Premier League club as he seeks a new challenge away from the Emirates after speaking to the new boss of Arsenal, Unai Emery.

Sky Sports tweeted the following after breaking the news on Twitter, much to the shocked reaction of the footballing world to the departure of Wilshere from Arsenal.

Although it seems almost impossible that Wilshere would drop into the Championship, Twitter seems to disagree and a number of optimistic Leeds United and Nottingham Forest fans have an outside hope that their clubs could tempt the midfielder to drop a division and help their clubs reclaim their former glory.
