Marcelo Bielsa intends to sign contract for Leeds United ‘tonight’

Journalist Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post has just tweeted to suggest that Marcelo Bielsa is to become the new Head Coach of Leeds United and he is expected to sign a contract tonight.

After speculation suggesting he was concerned over the control he’d have at Leeds United that had been reported in the Daily Mirror no more than an hour ago, the tide seems to have turned and appears to be that the Argentinian is set to become the new manager of Leeds United in the next few hours.

This finishes a managerial saga that seems to have taken an absolute age to complete with several twists and turns during the time it has taken for Leeds United to secure the 62-year-olds signature.

If the West Yorkshire club have truly secured Bielsa’s signature at Elland Road, then means that a brand-new chapter has opened in both Leeds United’s history and Championship football with the manager expected to become the highest paid boss in the history of the Whites.

We can expect to see lots of attacking football at Elland Road this season, the inclusion of Bielsa’s famous 3-3-1-3 formation and furthermore, one of the biggest managers in the world taking over in the Championship. Bielsa, a man who was thought to have mentored ‘Pep Guardiola’ seems to be set to come to the Championship – and this could be the biggest appointment in Leeds United’s history.
