Rumoured Bristol City and Leeds United transfer target Dean Henderson has signed a new contract with Manchester United as expected according to reports by Bristol Live.
The 21-year-old Whitehaven-born stopper was set to be out of contract at Old Trafford later this month but has extended his deal by two years.
Bristol City and Leeds United were said to be considering moves for Henderson this summer, although the72 reported earlier this week that the youngster was expected to sign a new deal with United. It has now been confirmed that the keeper has extended his contract, ending any chance of a permanent move to the Sky Bet Championship in the process.
Henderson is yet to make his first team debut for The Red Devils and spent last season on loan with Sky Bet League One club Shrewsbury Town where he made 48 appearances in all competitions. The player is likely to be loaned out by United again for the upcoming campaign meaning that Bristol City or Leeds United could yet land Henderson on a temporary basis.
The keeper was an apprentice at Carlisle United before being snapped up by his current club at the age of 14. Henderson has been named as a substitute in the United first team squad in the past but has got no closer to pushing for a starting place.
