An updated five potential candidates for the Macclesfield Town job

Macclesfield Town are still in the hunt for a new manager after John Askey left them to join Shrewsbury Town. Here is an updated five potential candidates-

Jay Saunders, Maidstone- Despite announcements last week that Saunders would be staying with Maidstone in the National League, he still remains the bookies’ odds-on favourite for the Macclesfield job. He is a highly-rated young boss who is being tipped for a big future and it appears to be difficult to lure him away from Maidstone.

Keith Curle- He is a decent option for the Silkmen and is available after leaving Carlisle United at the end of the season. Curle has bags of experience in the Football League and would be ideal. He has previously managed Mansfield Town, Chester, Torquay United, Notts County and Carlisle and has also worked as Neil Warnock’s assistant at Crystal Palace and QPR.
