Yesterday, Bolton Wanderers announced the signing of Erhun Oztumer on a free transfer, but how did Bolton fans react to the signing?

The playmaker puts pen to paper on a two-year deal at Macron Stadium to become the Whites’ second signing of the summer, having most recently been on the books of Walsall.

Although, he is 5ft 3ins and is the shortest player in the EFL, he his quality ability on the ball and pin point set pieces that has earned him the name ‘Turkish Messi’ from the Walsall supporters.

The midfielder has been in the PFA League One team of the year for the last two seasons, he has netted 32 goals in 95 games for the Saddlers in all competitions.

Oztumer started his career in London at Charlton, but was released at the age of 16 and spent three years playing in Turkey, featuring for Sivasspor and Anadolu Bagcilar.

He returned to England in 2012, joining non-league Dulwich Hamlet, where he went on to impressively score 60 goals in 96 appearances before being picked up by Peterborough and then sold to Walsall.

Oztumer said: “I’m thrilled to put pen to paper and I just can’t wait to get started now.”

“I am excited to test myself in the Sky Bet Championship with some great players and I’ll be looking to show the Bolton faithful exactly what I am capable of.”

“I had a chat with the manager and I really felt as though it was the right move for me. He told me all the things that I wanted to hear and that’s why I’m here today as a Bolton Wanderers player.”
