Tottenham are not the only club who are interested with Chelsea, Fulham and Leicester are also keen on the 22-year-old, Grealish has emerged as a target for a number of top clubs due to Aston Villa’s current financial problems.
Aston Villa have apparently have a £40m price tag on the 22-year-old, so Spurs’ offer falls way short of that valuation and likely to be rejected.
However, despite their precarious financial state, senior sources at Villa believe they may not be forced to sell their star academy graduate after all.
According to Sky Sports, at Monday’s crucial board meeting, acting deputy chief executive Luke Organ painted a more optimistic picture of the club’s finances and, while not ruling it out, suggested they may not be forced to sell the youngster.
Dr Tony Xia gambled on promotion in his first two seasons as owner by bankrolling whopping transfer deals and handing out big contracts and it’s backfired and Villa are under a lot of pressure to sell Grealish.
The 22-year old has already made an impressive 110 appearances for Aston Villa’s first team.
The youngster has netted nine goals and assisted 15 in that time. But it was this past season which showed what a top young talent Grealish is and could potentially be world class.
If Tottenham managed to sign the talented youngster it could be a brilliant piece of the club but would leave Aston Villa fans worried about next season.
