Derby County could sign 103 cap international captain this summer

Frank Lampard becoming the new manager of Derby County could be one of the biggest things to happen in recent years at Pride Park, as rumours start to surface linking a number of high profile players with a move to the Rams.

Lampard is a legend of English football, and has made many friends along the way, and his playing career is bound to impact his managerial career.

The former West Ham United, Chelsea and Manchester City star is one of the best midfielders that the Premier League has ever seen, and he has built a reputation for himself worldwide.

Because of this, many players would do anything to play under his guidance at Derby County, and one of his former team mates that has been linked with a move to Derby already is Branislav Ivanovic.

The former Chelsea defender is currently on the books at Russian side Zenit St Petersburg, but is said to be open to a move back to England after leaving Chelsea last summer.

The Serbian defender spent nine years at Stamford Bridge with Lampard, playing over 250 games for the West London club. He is a huge admirer of Lampard, and is likely to jump at the opportunity to play with him as manager.

It may seem like a strange one, but Sky Bet certainly think it’s likely, giving odds of 3/1 that Ivanovic is a Derby County player before the transfer window closes.

Ivanovic’s experience for Derby County could be crucial. The 34-year-old has played over 400 games in his club career, and is part of the illustrious group of people who have made over 100 appearances for his native Serbia.
