Leeds United, Stoke City and Bristol City go head to head for Manchester United goalkeeper

Dean Henderson’s performances last season at Sky Bet League One side Shrewsbury Town have caught the eye of football clubs from all around the country.

The Manchester United loanee kept 19 clean sheets for the Shrews, helping them to both the Checkatrade Trophy final and the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final.

Sadly for the Midlands club, they were beaten in both finals at Wembley, and face losing a lot of their players this summer.

Henderson was obviously on loan from Manchester United, and it is reported by the Daily Mail that he will be loaned out to a Sky Bet Championship club for the 2018/19 campaign.

The 21-year-old is highly thought of at Old Trafford, and as we reported earlier, he is set to sign a new deal at the Premier League giants in the coming days.

While this rules out a permanent move to a second tier club, Leeds United, Bristol City and Stoke City are all thought to be monitoring the youngster, with a view of completing a loan deal.

Until last season, very few people had heard of Dean Henderson, even the most die-hard Manchester United fan, but his performances with Shrewsbury Town impressed everyone.

The Shrews defied all odds to finish third in Sky Bet League One, and Henderson played a huge role in that and quickly became a fan favourite.

Dean Henderson started his career at Carlisle United, playing in their youth set-up for six years before being signed by Manchester United.

Due to the fact that Man United have David De Gea as their first choice, Henderson is yet to play a game for the Red Devils, but has enjoyed several loan spells away from the club.

Prior to his spell at Shrewsbury Town, Henderson enjoyed a season at Stockport County, and a season at Grimsby Town.

His performances this season were rewarded when he made his debut for the England under 21 side in March, just before he was named in the Sky Bet League One team of the year.
