Leeds United defender attracting Premier League interest

According to the Bournemouth Echo, Premier League Bournemouth are interested in securing the services of Leeds United and England Under-21 left-back Tom Pearce.

Supposedly, both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are interested in bringing the young defender to the Premier League – although this would cost both clubs a fee given the fact that Pearce recently agreed on a contract extension with the Whites. Pearce has been with Leeds United for the last few years and has recently broken into the first-team with a few impressive displays in the Championship also catching the eye of Bournemouth and Palace.

Recently, Pearce has been away on international duty with England U21’s in the Toulon Tournament which the young squad managed to retain for the third consecutive year after a 2-1 victory against Mexico in the final.

Currently, Leeds United’s future lies in deep uncertainty as the club are yet to formally announce a new manager – despite the fact that Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa has been heavily linked with the role.

If Bielsa was to take over at Elland Road, it’s unclear as to whether the Argentine would want to keep Pearce at Leeds United or whether he’d be keen to cash in the young prospect whilst the interest in him remains keen from the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has only attracted interest thus far but with his inclusion in England’s U21 squad and promotion into Leeds United’s starting XI, he may well pave a move away if he continues to impress and Leeds fans should be on their toes to keep an eye on Pearce’s future and where it may lie outside of Elland Road.
