Birmingham City yet to move for Peterborough United goal machine

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has confirmed that Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City are yet to make a move for 33-goal striker Jack Marriott according to Birmingham Live.

The 23-year-old Beverley-born goal machine has enjoyed a prolific first campaign at the ABAX Stadium and the player is expected to leave The Posh this summer with several higher division clubs chasing his signature.

It has been reported that Birmingham City are one of the clubs interested in signing Marriott, however, it is now believed that Blues boss Garry Monk is yet to submit a transfer offer for the talented youngster. Bristol City, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are some the other known admirers of the player.

Marriott started his career with Ipswich Town but the striker went on to make just three appearances for The Tractor Boys in which he failed to find the back of the net.

In summer 2015, the player joined Luton Town and Marriott netted 28 goals in 91 appearances for The Hatters. A move to Peterborough United followed and the striker’s career has gone from strength-to-strength in a short space of time at the ABAX Stadium.

The Posh have admitted defeat in the battle to hold onto the player with Marriott destined for higher division football next term.
