Galatasaray have joined the race to sign Leeds United target Abel Hernandez, as reported by The72 earlier today.
The Uruguayan striker is leaving Hull City on a free transfer but to where is yet to be known. It now appears that it will be battle between Galatasaray and Leeds United for his signature. Here are three things Hernandez will consider-
Champions League or Championship?: Galatasaray will be in the Champions League next season and this would be a fantastic opportunity for Abel Hernandez. If the 27-year-old wants to progress his career then it is unlikely that he would stay in the Championship, unless Leeds offer him silly money. He signalled his intentions to play at higher level on a couple of occasions when playing for Hull City in the second tier, so a move to Galatasaray could turn his head.
Relocation: He is believed to have settled in Yorkshire and the move to Leeds makes sense for geographical reasons. Hernandez has lived in England for four years now since he first made the move to join Hull in 2014 from Palermo. A move to Galatasaray would mean a move to Turkey, but he is used to moving countries for the sake of his footballing career.
First-team opportunities: There is no doubt that Hernandez would be the main man for Leeds United if he did sign for them. He would be the focal point of their potential promotion charge next season and would be their starting striker. Whereas at Galatasaray, he may be fighting for the striking positions and the competition for places will be tougher then what they are at Leeds.
