Three other options Leeds could look at if Hernandez doesn’t come off

The news regarding all things Leeds United is as slow as ever this week and fans are becoming increasingly frustrated by the lack of news, especially regarding a head-coach. A deal for Marcelo Bielsa hasn’t reached a conclusion and nobody is actually sure if it will, the same with Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez.

Without doubt the number one target is Abel Hernandez and rightly so. Pablo Hernandez and Samu Saiz could only dream of having a striker with that ability at the club last season and a deal to bring him to Elland Road would be wonderful news. There are other clubs lurking though, clubs who could offer much more money and that means until a deal is officially completed there is a high-risk element, and the club are said to be looking at other options in case of that outcome.

Who else could provide the fire power?

Nakhi Wells – Burnley

The ex-Bradford City and Huddersfield Town striker has bags of ability and at Championship level he is more than capable of getting a team the goals needed to compete at the top end of the division. Quick and intelligent he can also provide great movement that players such as Samu Saiz and Pablo Hernandez can look to feed. Most importantly he can score goals, a feature of our play last season was getting into great positions and having no composure.

Sam Boldock – Brighton

Baldock is a very good footballer and probably doesn’t get the credit he deserves. he was an important part of the Brighton team that gained promotion at the back-end of the 2016/17 campaign but the next step was probably too much for him. He can get goals and without doubt would be a great addition to most Championship teams. Works very hard and would probably need a partner alongside him but certainly one who wouldn’t cost much in fees or big wages.

Leonardo Ulloa

The Argentine striker spent some of last season on loan at Brighton where he made his name at Championship level. The big striker was a handful during his spell with Bright but it never really worked out for him once he moved to Leicester although he provided some crucial goals during the remarkable season where they won the Premier League so his time there will be remembered for that. Plays a similar way to Chris Wood and we know how that worked out.
