OPINION: Five players Daniel Stendel could sign for Barnsley

Barnsley have appointed Daniel Stendel as their new manager on a two-year deal. Here are five players he could sign for the Tykes as he look to guide them back to the Championship-

Sonny Bradley, Plymouth Argyle- The Tykes are in need of some defensive reinforcements this summer as they look to stop leaking goals at the back. Sonny Bradley is out of contract with Plymouth Argyle at the end of the month and would be a great free signing for Barnsley. He impressed in League One for the Pilgrims last season.

Hakeeb Adelakun, Scunthorpe United- He was impressive for Scunthorpe United last season and helped them get into the Play-Offs. However, his contract is due to expire meaning Barnsley could snap him up on a free. There will be Championship interest in him but Stendel should try and persuade Adelakun to lead the Tykes’ charge to promotion.

Mike-Steven Bähre, Hannover 96- Stendel managed the 22-year-old winger at Hannover. The German winger has spent the past couple of seasons out on loan at Hallescher and SV Meppen and could become available again this summer. He is an option for Stendel and someone who would offer Barnsley something different.
