Paul Heckingbottom- He was sacked by Leeds United last week and is now available. He guided Barnsley to promotion from League One and the Football League Trophy in 2016 so has the experience of being successful in the third tier before so would suit Doncaster.
Simon Grayson- The experienced boss has bags of experience at League One level and has won promotion from this level on four occasions with Blackpool, Huddersfield Town, Leeds United and Preston North End. He is free after leaving Bradford City at the end of the season.
Richie Wellens, Oldham Athletic- He had two separate spells at Doncaster as a player and could be targeted by them. The 38-year-old is currently manager of Oldham Athletic but could not prevent them from being relegated to League Two last season, despite making a positive impact at the start.
