Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City and Reading want Ligue 2 striker

Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City and Reading are interested in Sochaux striker Moussa Sao, according to The Sun.

The 28-year-old striker’s contract with the French Ligue 2 side expires next month and he will become a free agent as it stands. He is attracting a lot of interest from Championship clubs.

Sao was an ex-French futsal player and was given his chance by French side Le Havre in 2013. He spent two years there before he was snapped up by Sochaux in 2015 and he has since scored 9 goals for them in 68 games.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in bringing him to Hillsborough this summer. Their manager, Jos Luhukay, is keen to bolster his squad as he looks to have them competing at the top end of the Championship next season.

Reading are also keen on signing him. The Royals, like Sheffield Wednesday, are aiming to have a better season next term and want to add some more attacking options to their squad. They have already signed Andy Yiadom and are close to signing John O’Shea.

Stoke City are the final club to be credited with an interest. They will be playing in the Championship in the next campaign and have Gary Rowett at the helm now. Sao is an option for them as they look for someone to fire the goals to get them back to the Premier League.
