Barnsley seem to be taking an age to appoint a new manager following the departure of Jose Morais.
The Portuguese boss was let go after the club suffered relegation from the Sky Bet Championship on the final day of the regular season, condemning them to third tier football for the 2018/19 campaign.
Morais had replaced Paul Heckingbottom at the helm, but he was unable to turn around the club’s fortunes, and a 4-1 defeat at Derby County on the final day meant that they would be relegated alongside Sunderland and Burton Albion.
A number of names have since been linked with the vacancy at Oakwell. Former Peterborough United manager Grant McCann is the current favourite.
McCann has been out of a job since he was sacked by Peterborough back in February, and he has been given odds of 8/11 to take charge of the Tykes.
Other names that have been mentioned include Gareth Ainsworth, who led Wycombe Wanderers to promotion from Sky Bet League Two last season, and Simon Grayson, who he somewhat of an expert at leading teams out of the third tier.
However, one name that has only just appeared on the list of odds given by Bet Victor is Daniel Stendel, who has emerged as the second favourite to become Barnsley’s next manager, with odds of 7/4.
The former professional footballer is an inexperienced manager, who has only managed one club in his managerial career.
That club is German side Hannover 96, who play in the Bundesliga. He had a good win percentage at the club, winning 54% of his games.
