Moore, Reading slap £15m price tag on defender as Brighton start chase

Reading slap £15m price tag on defender as Brighton start chase

Reading have placed a £15m valuation on Liam Moore as Brighton and Hove Albion remain interested according to a report from the Reading Chronicle.

Even the Royals are coming off the back of a poor season, Moore had been a bright spot. He was solid in defence throughout the season even the team were struggling and there was reasonable hopes that the team could be built around him going into next season. This thought is compounded by the fact Moore was also one of their best players when they reached the Sky Bet Championship play-off final the year before.

But with such form comes interest and that is what is happening this summer. Even with Moore having a contract that will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until 2021, several teams have stated an interest in signing in him. One team reports have linked with a move for Moore is Brighton who may need a new centre back should Connor Goldson head to Rangers like many expect him to do.

But if Brighton or any other team want to sign Moore, they will have to pay up a lot of money. In an attempt to put off any team who might want him, they have placed a price tag of £15m on him. This would be a massive fee for any team to pay, especially for a player that is not proven in the Premier League. This is good news for Reading who will hope to keep one of their key players.
