Recently sacked Leeds United manager has next job lined up already

Paul Heckingbottom was only sacked by Leeds United yesterday (June 01), but according to Bet Victor he is already the favourite to become the new manager of Yorkshire rivals Bradford City.

The Bantams have been without a manager since Simon Grayson made the decision to leave the club, and Heckingbottom is currently 2/1 to take over at Valley Parade.

Paul Heckingbottom’s time at Elland Road was short lived. He left Barnsley for Leeds back in March, but failed to turn around the fortunes of the club, who had stumbled to mid table mediocrity under the guidance of Spanish manager Thomas Christiansen.

The decision to let the former Barnsley boss go had been a long drawn out one, with many Leeds supporters calling for his head once the season had been completed.

The decision was finally made yesterday, and it seems that Heckingbottom has not taken the decision too badly and could be in a new job within the next few weeks.

Heckingbottom has taken over Grant McCann as the bookies’ favourite to become the next Bantams boss.

The former Peterborough United manager had previously been at evens, but he has now dropped down to 4/1.

Heckingbottom could be exactly the kind of manager that Bradford City are looking for, as he has experience at gaining promotion from Sky Bet League One.

He took Barnsley into the second tier of English football via the Play-Offs back in 2015/16, as the Tykes beat Millwall 3-1 in the final at Wembley.

Other names that have been linked with a move to Valley Parade are Mark Warburton and Steve Cotterill.
