Five players Swansea City could sign to replace Àngel Rangel

Àngel Rangel left Swansea City following their relegation from the Premier League. Here are five players the Swans could sign to replace him-

Glen Johnson, Free agent- The experienced right-back is leaving Stoke City on a free transfer at the end of the month when his contract there expires. The former Chelsea, West Ham, Portsmouth and Liverpool man is an option for Swansea City to fill the gap left by Rangel’s departure.

Sam Byram, West Ham- He has fallen down the pecking order in the Premier League at West Ham and could leave them this summer. Byram played just 5 games for the Hammers last season but would be ideal. The 24-year-old joined West Ham from Leeds United in January 2016.

Carl Jenkinson, Arsenal- The 26-year-old has played for Arsenal since 2011 but has never been a first-team regular for them. Instead, he has had loan spells away at West Ham and Birmingham City and needs to find a new permanent home. Swansea City in the Championship would be perfect for him.

Chris Gunter, Reading- Swansea City fans will know all about Gunter from him being a regular for the Wales national team. He is a vastly experienced Championship full-back and should be targeted by Swansea City as they look to bolster their squad for a promotion push this season.

Darnell Fisher, Preston North End- He has burst onto the scene at Preston north End this season after joining them from Rotherham United last summer. Although he has recently signed a new deal, there will no doubt be interest in him still. The former Celtic right-back has won the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup so far in his career.
