Roma join Liverpool and Arsenal to challenge Wolves interest in Brazilian

According to talkSPORT, Serie A giants Roma are to enter the arena and join Liverpool and Arsenal in challenging Wolves for the signing of Anderson Talisca.

Mentioning that Talisca’s future “is unclear following the completion of his two-year loan at Besiktas”, talkSPORT go on to say that a permanent sale is likely to be seen at some point soon.

However, they do admit that there is “still some doubt” as to where the talented Brazilian will be playing his football next season. At the head of their article they do state that “Roma have emerged as contenders” for Talisca’s signature and in doing so they join interested parties Liverpool, Arsenal and Wolves.

Back in mid-April, the Birmingham Mail reported that Wolves had made contact with his agent/manager Carlos Leite to remind him of their interest. With Besiktas not triggering the purchase clause in his contract, Anderson Talisca becomes a tangible transfer target for interested clubs.

The Benfica star has spent the last two seasons on loan at Turkish club Besiktas, featuring in 80 games (37 goals/14 assists) for the Super Lig side, 33 of those games coming this season. It has been a season where he has scored 14 times and provided seven assists, including a brace in a 5-1 season finale destruction of Sivasspor.

Portuguese outlet Record say that it is Liverpool that are thought in the driving seat to win the race for Talisca’s signature saying that the 24-year-old Brazilian “only waits for the reads to ‘get ahead’ with a concrete proposal.”

The cost of this ‘concrete proposal’? €21 million or £18.5 million – that’s what any side will have to pay to land the Benfica star.
