Leeds United pre-season schedule revealed, including Spanish opposition

Sky Bet Championship side Leeds United have revealed their pre-season schedule, which will consist of five friendly matches, one of which faces them at Elland Road before the league season starts.

Also, Leeds have also confirmed that they will be purely based at their Thorp Arch training facility throughout the summer. The club will not participate in any matches overseas, or even take part in any training camps on foreign soil.

Kicking off their pre-season friendly list is a trip to Forest Green Rovers on 17th July. They shall take on Mark Cooper’s side in a 7pm kick off.

Two days later, on the 19th, York City is the destination, again with a 7pm kick off.

This encounter is then followed up on July 24th, with a 7.45pm kick off away to Sky Bet League One Oxford United. Earlier last season, they were managed by Pep Clotet, a former assistant manager at Leeds when Garry Monk was in charge.

Leeds’ final away pre-season clash comes against Guiseley, on 26th July, again beginning at 7.45pm.

Finally, Elland Road it is on 29th July with a 3pm kick off, with Las Palmas the visitors. They participated in La Liga last season but were relegated, meaning they’ll be in the Segunda Division next season. They only won five matches last season, one of which came at home to Valencia, who finished the season in 4th, qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
