Lincoln, Lincoln City trio attract big EFL transfer interest

Lincoln City trio attract big EFL transfer interest

According to Lincolnshire Live, three of Lincoln City’s players are attracting interest from rival clubs. Paul Farman, Elliott Whitehouse and Ollie Palmer are those, which comes a day after key midfielder Alex Woodyard left for Peterborough United.

The Imps reached the play-offs in their first season back in Sky Bet League Two, finding Exeter City too hot to handle over two legs. Woodyard has already moved on to Peterborough United after they met the release clause in his contract. Manager Danny Cowley is now sweating as three more could potentially be moving on from Lincoln.

Goalkeeper Paul Farman is understood to be attracting interest from League Two rivals Stevenage, managed by Dino Maamria. He is the long-serving player at Sincil Bank, and whilst he was not a regular starter last season, he is settled in the area and is not necessarily looking to move on. Ryan Allsop ended last season on loan at the club as first choice, and it is unknown if he’ll be returning after AFC Bournemouth released him. Josh Vickers should be back from injury in time for pre-season to battle for the number one jersey.

Whitehouse is out of contract with the club, but the Checkatrade Trophy final match winner has been offered an extension by Cowley. The club hope he will stay on, but he clearly has options on the table. ‘Several’ clubs are understood to be keen on the hard-working attacking midfielder.

Finally, Palmer earned the tag as ‘super sub’ with the club last season, which earned him a tag as a big fans’ favourite. However, it remains to be seen if he’ll be happy with a similar role this time around. Cowley has already added another forward in the form of Bruno Andrade from Boreham Wood, and at least one more forward will arrive over the summer too. Therefore, Palmer is another with a decision to make, with many clubs monitoring his situation. He is under contract for another season, however.
