Brentford complete loan signing of Alex Pritchard

Brentford have completed the loan signing of Alex Pritchard, from Tottenham Hotspur. The twenty-one year old will stay at Griffin Park for the duration of the 2014/15 season.

The attacking midfielder spent last season out on loan at Swindon Town, scoring eight goals in 44 appearances in all competitions. His performances last season meant he was shortlisted for League One Player of the Year and Football League Young Player of the Year.

Brentford manager, Mark Warburton said “Alex is a player I have watched for many years. I have followed his career at Tottenham from a young age. He is very good tactically and technically with excellent dead ball delivery. He showed his quality while he was on loan at Swindon last year. Alex will add to the quality in our squad, which is taking shape nicely ahead of the start of the season.”

Warburton: “This deal is testament to the work of Sporting Director Frank McParland and his team over the summer. We fought off competition from a number of Championship clubs to get Alex to Griffin Park.”
