Republic of Ireland international David Meyler is now a free agent after being released by Hull City. Here are three Championship clubs who should sign him-
Aston Villa- The Midlands club won’t be able to spend extravagantly this summer after missing out on promotion to the Premier League. Signing David Meyler on a free transfer would be ideal for them as he has bags of experience. He has got experience of being promoted from the Championship on two occasions from his time at Hull City. He also knows Villa boss Steve Bruce from their time at Sunderland and Hull together.
Reading- Paul Clement has already added Andy Yiadom to his squad from Barnsley and should bolster his midfield options with the signing of Meyler. The Royals have signed players like Paul McShane and Stephen Quinn on free transfers from Hull over recent years, could Meyler be the next to make the move to the Madejski Stadium from East Yorkshire?
Ipswich Town- The Tractor Boys have been linked with a move for Meyler over recent months and he would be a shrewd signing for them. They are in need of some signings this summer to bolster their squad and get them competing in the top half of the table. Meyler would provide them with more options and depth in midfield. They are expected to get Paul Hurst as their manager from Shrewsbury Town but he could bring his own players in.
