Norwich City closing in on the signing of Everton midfielder

Norwich City are closing in on the signing of Everton midfielder Tom Scully, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The central midfielder captained Everton’s Under-18’s last season but is being released by the Premier League side this summer. Norwich City are hoping to snap him up on a free transfer.

Norwich City are expected to have a busy couple of months in the transfer window. Their manager, Daniel Farke, is looking to bolster his side as he aims to have them competing at the top end of the Championship next season.

The Canaries are also obviously looking to the future as well. The potential signing of Tom Scully shows they are looking at the long-term as well and he could be a big player for the Carrow Road side further down the line.

Scully played for Liverpool’s academy before he made the switch to their Merseyside rivals as a youngster in 2015. He was tipped for a big future at Goodison Park but the top flight side are making changes to their Under-18’s side and Scully is one of eight players to be released.

Scully made 18 appearances for Everton in the U18 Premier League this season for the Toffees and chipped in with 3 goals and 3 assists. He can be used as a central midfielder or in central defensive midfield.

He is a name for Norwich City fans to keep an eye out for in the future with them looking to snap him up on a free transfer.
