Top 50 Players of the EFL – 7th: Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley)

Accrington Stanley striker Billy Kee has been voted by you as the 7th best player in the EFL.

Over the last month, we have been gathering votes from you to find the best managers and players in the EFL. And after counting the votes, we have discovered you think that Kee is the 7th best player in the Football League. This is the first time he has been on the Top 50 Players countdown.

If you have been following the lower parts of the EFL for a while now, you will have already known about Kee. He has been a solid striker in Sky Bet League Two for many years now whether he is playing for Torquay United, Burton Albion or Mansfield Town. But sometimes when you have been merely good for years, you just need the right set of circumstances to make everything click.

Kee has been at Accrington since 2015 and again, he has been quite good during that time. But this year was his year. While Accrington shocked the world and went on to win the League Two, Kee was the star of the show as he was lethal in front of goal throughout the year. In his 56 appearances for the team this season, he scored 26 goals and was able to contribute with four assists on top of that. The 25 goals he scored in League Two made him the highest scorer in the division, beating the likes of Marc McNulty, Mohammed Eisa and Danny Hylton.

Kee will hope to continue that form following Accrington’s promotion to Sky Bet League One.
