Aston Villa plotting mega-money move for striker

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce shall launch a huge bid to sign Moussa Marega from Porto if the side gain promotion to the Premier League.

The Porto player impressed in Portugal during the 2017/18 season and, according to the Birmingham Mail, if Aston Villa gain promotion to the Premier League, then he could be on his way to England.

Marega is a key player for Porto and one of their main strikers, banging in 22 goals in 35 games during the 2017/18 campaign.

Before the player made the move to Porto, he played his club football for Maritimo in Portugal, impressing so much he piqued the interest of Porto who then signed him.

After the 27-year old made the move, he spent some time on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes and then started banging in the goals for Porto.

Aston Villa’s Steve Bruce shall be hoping that if the club do manage to get promoted to the Premier League, then the player shall join them in England start scoring goals for them.

Porto boss Sergio Conceicao though doesn’t want to let him go on the cheap and could demand up to £35m for Marega’s signature if Aston Villa do decide to launch a concrete bid for him.

Whether Aston Villa sign the player or approach the player about a potential move though does depend on whether Steve Bruce’s side can win against Fulham and secure a place in the Premier League next season.

If the Villa Park side do stay in the Championship, then Marega is likely to stay in Portugal unless another side launch a bid for the player.
