Ex-Brentford and Rangers boss is the new favourite for Bradford City job

Mark Warburton has emerged as the new 1/1 favourite for the Bradford City job on SkyBet.

The League One side are in the hunt for a new manager after Simon Grayson left them at the end of the season. They may found their man in the experienced Mark Warburton, who is available after he was sacked by Nottingham Forest in December.

Warburton played for Boreham Wood and Enfield in his playing days. He became Brentford’s sporting director before he was handed the managerial role in 2013 and guided them to the promotion from League One in his first season at the club.

He then got the Bees into the Championship Play-Offs after a fifth place finish in their first season back in the second tier. However, they lost to Middlesbrough over two legs and Warburton left the club.

He got back into the game with Scottish giants Rangers. He won the Scottish Championship title and the Scottish Challenge Cup in his first full season at Ibrox. However, Warburton went onto resign during the next season in the  top flight. Warburton then joined Nottingham Forest in March 2017 but he lasted 10 months at the City Ground.

Mark Warburton would be a decent appointment by Bradford City as he has been promoted from League One before and has an impressive CV. Even though his time at Forest came to a premature end, he deserves another chance.
