Top five Sky Bet Championship goalscorers 2017/18

The regular season is over in the Sky Bet Championship, and the Play-Offs are underway, with both semi final first legs having taken place.

It was an exciting season, with promotion, Play-Off places and relegation all going right down to the wire, and being decided on the final day.

We take a look at the top five goalscorers across the 46 games in the Sky Bet Championship this season:
4) Diogo Jota – 17 goals:

The Wolves man played 3632 minutes of their victorious Sky Bet Championship season, scoring an impressive 17 goals. That is an average of a goal every 214 minutes. He had a total of 88 shots, with 58% of them testing the keeper.

3) Leon Clarke – 19 goals:

The Sheffield United striker has struggled in recent seasons, but he really shone in the Sky Bet Championship, scoring a goal every 175 minutes for the Blades. He helped the Yorkshire club to a top half finish in their first season back in the second tier, and he will be looking for more goals next season. He had 75 shots in total, with 61% of them ending up on target.

3) Bobby Reid – 19 goals:

Also on 19 goals in the league this season is Bristol City striker Bobby Reid, who has attracted the attention of a number of top flight clubs following his performances in the Sky Bet Championship this season. His 19 league goals came in 4041 minutes, meaning he averaged a goal every 213 minutes for the Robins. He had 65 shots in total, with 60% of them being registered as on target.

2) Lewis Grabban – 20 goals:

The on-loan Bournemouth striker’s goals were spread across his time at both Sunderland and Aston Villa. His average of a goal every 126 minutes was one of the best in the league, and he only missed out on the golden boot on the final day of the Sky Bet Championship season.

1) Matej Vydra – 21 goals:

The Sky Bet Championship 2017/18 golden boot goes to Derby County’s Matej Vydra! His goal on the final weekend of the season gave him the honour ahead of Aston Villa’s Lewis Grabban. Vydra played 2784 minutes this season, helping Gary Rowett’s side to the Play-Offs, averaging a goal every 133 minutes.
