Sheffield United have put seven of their first-team players on the transfer list, according to the Sheffield Star.
The Blades have made George Long, Ben Heneghan, Louis Reed, Nathan Thomas, Caolan Lavery, Samir Carruthers and James Hanson all available for transfer. They have also announced that Clayton Donaldson and Chris Hussey will leave the club on a free transfer when their contracts expire.
The Championship side are hoping for an overhaul in their squad as they look to free up funds to bring some signings in to help them push for the Play-Offs next season.
George Long has played over 100 games for Sheffield United but has fallen down the pecking order under Chris Wilder. He has spent this season on loan at AFC Wimbledon and the Blades are looking to offload him on a permanent basis over the coming months.
Ben Heneghan and Nathan Thomas only joined the Bramall Lane club last summer but have both found first-team chances hard to come by so could also leave. Thomas, who signed from Hartlepool United, has spent the latter part of this campaign on loan at Shrewsbury Town.
Another three of the players they have put up for sale are returning from loans as well, Hanson has been on loan at Bury, Lavery at Rotherham United whilst Louis Reed has spent this season at Chesterfield. They could all be on their way this summer.
Samir Carruthers is the final player who they are looking to sell. He played a part in their promotion from League One under Wilder but has not been a first-team regular this season.
