Reading linked with loan move for Chelsea starlet

Reading have been linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, as per a report by the Reading Chronicle.

Paul Clement is looking to use his contacts with the Premier League giants to bring the promising youngster to the Madejski Stadium. It is expected to be a busy summer at Reading as Clement looks to bring some new players in to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad.

The 19-year-old has spent this season on loan at Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse and has impressed for them. He has played 38 games for them in all competitions, scoring 12 goals which resulted in him winning their Player of the Year award. He is set to report back to Chelsea when his loan expires, but they may loan him out again for next season so he can gain some more first-team experience.

Mount was born in Portsmouth and joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of 6 and rose through the youth ranks of the London side. He has never played a game for Chelsea’s senior side yet but has represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level.

His early career has been successful in terms of winning trophies. Mount has already won the FA Youth Cup twice with Chelsea, the UEFA Youth League, the U18 Premier League and the European U19 Championships with England.

Mason Mount is a promising talent with a big future ahead of him in the game. He would be a very impressive loan signing for Reading.
