Best new signing
Out of the new signings the name that stands out is ,ex-Republic of Ireland player, Liam Lawrence. He was recently released by Barnsley where Mellon had worked with him previously as a coach. A chance meeting on an aeroplane to Dubai led to the two chatting with it resulting in Lawrence signing a contract with the club. The signing is a bit of a coup for Shrewsbury and he will add some great ability to the midfield and his quality should shine through at this level. At the age of 32 he will still have a lot to offer and I’m sure most clubs in the division would love to have him playing for them.
