Forest Green had a somewhat damp squib, some would say miserable, season eventually finished in 21st place in the table – a position that many will demand must be improved next season.
Their 46 games saw the Green Devils notch 13 wins, battle for 8 draws and suffer 25 losses in a campaign that saw them end up just one point shy of the final relegation position in League Two and a drop to the National League – England’s fifth-tier of football.
Manager Mark Cooper is readying the club for the next campaign and has kick started these preparations for Forest Green’s 2018/19 campaign with the following release of the club’s list of retained players.
Forest Green retained player list:
Scott Laird, Lee Collins, Dayle Grubb, Christian Doidge, Jordan Simpson, Charlie Cooper, Dan Wishart, Gavin Gunning, Farrend Rawson, Rueben Reid and Haydn Hollis.
Forest Green contracted players but available for transfer:
Luke James, Fabien Robert and Manny Monthe.

Keanu Marsh-Brown, Omar Bugiel, Callum Evans, Alex Whittle, Mark Roberts, Sam Russell, Harry Pickering, Tom Anderson, Jon Moran, Olly Mehew, Cameron Belford and Jordan Morris.

We did things the right way but football moves on and I believe we have the foundations from which to build on this summer and be more competitive in League Two next season.“
