Fulham boss says his side have nothing to lose

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic has said that his said have nothing to lose ahead of the final weekend of the Sky Bet Championship season.

Fulham head into the last game in third place, knowing that they need a favour from Reading in order to achieve automatic promotion.

Reading, who beat Fulham in last season’s Play-Off Semi Final, travel to Wales to face Cardiff, who will be promoted automatically should they pick up maximum points.

If they fail to do so, Fulham will be hoping to take advantage, as they travel to relegation threatened Birmingham City.

Despite the significance that this weekend could have on both clubs, Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is remaining calm, and insisting that his team have nothing to lose.

As quoted by the BBC, he said: “Definitely they are in a better position than us. Even if they lose, they can be promoted,”

“Cardiff are not under my control, I cannot be nervous or think so much about them because I can do nothing. I cannot lose anything because we’ve never been second.”

Cardiff’s opponents still have something to play for, as they are just two points clear of the drop zone, and could get dragged in if results do not go their way.

Despite their poor league position, and an extremely disappointing season, Jokanovic is expecting the Royals to put in a good performance this weekend.

“What I expect from Reading – they are Reading players, they are going to be competitive and try to defend the Reading crest.

“I need to be worried about my game, but definitely in the last moment I will try to know what’s happening on the other pitch.”
