Five Championship clubs who could sign this Premier League misfit

Jordan Hugill has failed to make a name for himself at West Ham since his January move from Preston North End. It is understood that the striker will be allowed to leave The London Stadium on loan in the summer. Here are five Championship clubs that should look to sign Hugill:

Birmingham City – The Blues haven’t had a striker this season that has constantly found the back of the nest, and so have been embroiled in a relegation scrap. Che Adams and Southampton loanee Sam Gallagher are Birmingham’s joint top scorers with seven goals each. Hugill had bagged ten goals before his move to London. If the Blues stay up, Hugill could be the man to fire them up the table next season.

Preston North End – The Lillywhites could make a move for their old striker in the summer. Hugill left Deepdale for a reported fee of just over £10m, but could fancy a second stint with the Lancashire club. The 25-year-old is still Preston’s joint top scorer this season, and could prove to be a welcome addition to a club he’s made over one hundred appearances for.

Nottingham Forest – Forest have found goals hard to come by this season. They have relied on Kieran Dowell in front of goal, and the Everton loanee has netted on ten occasions, making him the club’s top scorer. Darryl Murphy is Forest’s top scoring striker with seven goals, a factor in why they have only managed forty-five goals this campaign. Hugill would go straight into the Forest line up and add some much-needed goals to the team.

Reading – The Royals have had a dismal season this year. After challenging for promotion last time out, they have found themselves in a relegation battle at the wrong end of the table. Modou Barrow and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson are joint top scorers at the Madejski Stadium with ten each. Hugill could help fire Reading to where they ought to be next season.

Leeds United –  United have also had a poor season in comparison to where they should be. Kemar Roofe has scored thirteen goals for the Whites making him their top scorer. Pierre-Michel Lasogga was brought in to score the goals this season but has only managed ten. With it looking likely his loan will not be made permanent, Hugill, of a similar mould to Lasogga, could be an ideal replacement.
