Sunderland boss believes Saturday is the last chance to avoid relegation

Sunderland manager has deemed Saturday’s game against fellow strugglers Burton Albion their last chance to avoid the drop to League One.

It’s has been a horrid season for Sunderland as they sit bottom of the table and with only three games remaining they’re six points from safety.

The Blacks Cats are on the brink of a second successive relegation, and their worries won’t be eased after they’ve only won once in their past 15 league games.

Burton Albion sit in a slightly more comfortable position as they are one point above Sunderland.

The loser of Sunderland vs Burton Albion could be condemned to relegation other results go against them but a draw could see both relegated but only if Bolton and Birmingham pick up three points.

Chris Coleman joint Sunderland back in November but he’s only managed to win five of his 26 league in charge of the club.

Sunderland boss, Chris Coleman told BBC Sport: “We have to give everything and hope and pray we get a bit of Lady Luck.”

“The fact there is still a glimmer of hope, an outside chance, is maybe a miracle in itself.”

The 47-year-old added: “Everything is on the game on Saturday.”

“We have just got to win. We need to take care of our business, more than any other game this season.”

“We have got a real good chance of getting three points, which could keep us in there,” he added.

“The worst thing will be if teams around us give us a chance and we don’t take it. We have got to get the best out of what we have got and be as positive as we can.

“We are not in a position where we can think it doesn’t matter. It always matters.”

Although, Coleman has expressed his desire to stay at the club even if the club drops down into League One.
