Wolverhampton Wanderers by David Johnson
- In the last three seasons Wolves have had two relegations and one promotion. Fans would probably settle for a comfy top half finish this season but if is only to be one year in the Championship they will be praying it’s going to be an exit through the top door not the trap door.
- Wolves have a number of high paid players they are hoping to offload before the end of the current transfer window. Kevin Doyle, Stephen Ward, Roger Johnson, Jamie O’Hara, Razak Boukari, Tongo Doumbia, Georg Magreitter, Bjorn Sigurdarson and Anthony Forde have not been given squad numbers for 2014/15.
- Wolves have only bought in two transfer signings so far this summer, both on free transfers. Former Peterborough man Tommy Rowe and Dutch winger Rajiv Van La Parra join the squad that dominated League 1 last season. They are hoping for 2 or 3 more new faces by the end of August with a striker and a centre back the priorities. Crewe forward Max Clayton is currently training at the club on a trial.
- The men from Molineux have a testing start to the new season as three of the first four games are against teams two divisions above them last season. Norwich, Fulham and Cardiff are all early opponents along with fellow promoted team, Rotherham.
