Host of Championship clubs tracking Barnsley striker

Leeds United are among a host of clubs keeping tabs on Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw, according to Football Insider.

The Welsh international has bagged 12 goals so far this term and has one year left on his current deal, but the Tykes look set to lose their key asset if they are relegated to League One.

Bradshaw joined the Tykes from Barnsley in 2016 after helping the Saddlers to a Playoff Semi-final. His impressive performances for Barnsley didn’t go unnoticed by then Wales manager Chris Coleman who capped Bradshaw three times for the National side.

Leeds have found goals hard to come by this season after the departure of star striker Chris Wood to Burnley. Kemar Roofe has been the Whites top scorer this campaign with 13 goals and Paul Heckingbottom will be looking to bolster his attacking options.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga was signed to replace Wood but hasn’t hit the heights expected of him, and it looks likely his loan move won’t be made permanent. Jay-Roy Grot and Caleb Ekuban were also brought in during the summer but have managed only three goals between them. Bradshaw could be the man to fill the goalscoring void at Elland Road.

Leeds are not the only club rumoured to be interested in the Barnsley man. Low scorers Birmingham City are thought to be plotting a move for the striker if they can maintain their Championship status. The Blues have managed only 32 goals this season, and Garry Monk will be looking to add to his forward line.

Sunderland and Reading tried to sign Bradshaw in the January transfer window, and both the Black Cats, and the Royals have continued to monitor his progress.
