Celtic eyeing a summer move for Queens Park Rangers star

Celtic are interested in QPR midfielder Ryan Manning, according to Football Insider.

The Scottish Premier League champions are apparently weighing up a summer move for the 21-year-old. Premier League side Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest.

Manning, who is a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, has impressed playing in the Championship for QPR under Ian Holloway. He made his breakthrough into their first-team last season.

QPR could face a battle to hold onto the Irish midfielder this summer with Celtic showing an interest. Their manager, Brendan Rodgers, is keen to further bolster his side ahead of the next campaign as he looks to win the Scottish Premier League title once again.

Manning started his career in Ireland for Mervue United in the League of Ireland First Division and was then signed by Galway United in 2014. He helped them gain promotion to the top flight in his first season at the club.

He then moved to England in January 2015 and was signed for QPR by Harry Redknapp. He made his debut for the London club in December 2016 against Wolves and has since played 32 times for them.

QPR fans will be hoping that they can see off interest from Celtic in Manning as they are tipping him for a big future. However, the opportunity of playing in Europe with Celtic could potentially turn his head.
