Victor Orta could be bringing another young talent to Elland Road with Fulham’s Dan Martin given a chance to impress on trial from Craven Cottage.
If there is one thing Victor Orta can be praised for since being appointed as Leeds United’s Director of Football almost a year ago, it is that he has brought some real talents to the Elland Road academy.
Dan Martin was an eye-catching name on the team-sheet for the U23 clash with Millwall this afternoon – mostly because this 18-year-old left-back is not contracted to Leeds United.

What you need to know about trialist Dan Martin –
Danny Martin joined Fulham as a schoolboy from Maidstone in Kent. A left-back who can also play in midfield. He made his debut for the Under-18s in 2015/16.
In the subsequent season Martin nailed down a place in the starting line up. A real versatile player, switching from left-back, left-wing and centre-midfield in any given game.
Interestingly, left-back has become a problem position at Leeds ever since Charlie Taylor departed for Burnley last year with Vurnon Anita, Stuart Dallas, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and January signing Laurens de Bock all struggling to nail down a place.
The likes of Ryan Edmondson, Sam Dalby, Jordan Stevens and Kun Temenuzhkov have given supporters reason for optimism with their displays at U18 and U23 level this season. And it seems that there could be another highly-rated youngster heading to Leeds United very soon.
