Derby County join Queens Park Rangers in race for Arsenal winger

Aaron Eyoma could leave Premier League giants Arsenal this summer having spent trial periods at Queens Park Rangers and Derby County, according to All Nigeria Soccer.

The 20-year-old is presently undergoing trial at Championship outfit Derby County with a view to a transfer this summer.

Aaron Eyoma was named in the starting line-up on Saturday, April 7th as The Rams U23 team were beaten 4-2 by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League 2 Division 1, his sibling Timothy Eyoma started for the London team.

The Hale End Academy product gave a good account of himself at Hotspur Way Training Centre, setting up the second goal scored by Derby County and they were trailing by one goal when he subbed out in the 84th minute.

The fact that the Gunners have permitted Aaron Eyoma to train with Derby County suggests that he’s preparing to bid farewell to the club at the end of the 2017-2018 season.

Eyoma, who can also play at right-back, spent time training with QPR two months ago but is yet to be offered a contract by the Loftus Road club.

And it will be an interesting battle for Eyoma’s signature, because the youngster, who has progressed through Arsenal’s academy but has not managed to force his way into the first-team picture, has had trials with both Derby and QPR over the last few months.

This season, he has recorded six appearances for Arsenal in the Premier League 2.

QPR might have a rather substantial advantage, however, in that they would allow Eyoma to continue his footballing education in the capital.
