Lincoln City have won the Checkatrade Trophy after their 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town at Wembley today.
The Imps shocked their opponents with a goal from midfielder Elliot Whitehouse in the first-half. They then held on impressively in the second half, despite strong pressure from the Shrews.
For Shrewsbury Town, it is a blow considering they were the favourites and are in a higher division. They will be disappointed but will now fully focus on their promotion push.
Lincoln, on the other hand, will be celebrating their silverware tonight. What a job Danny Cowley has done with the Imps. Here is how their fans reacted on Twitter to their famous win this afternoon-

That performance epitomised what Lincoln City are all about under the Cowley’s. Committed and resilient to the final whistle! Much better side on the day and deserved winners! #imps #ImpsAsOne 🔴⚪️🏆
