QPR have announced that Jamie Mackie, James Perch and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas will leave them at the end of the season, as confirmed by their official club website.
All three of their contracts are set to expire in June and they will be allowed to move on for nothing. QPR have also announced that talks are ongoing with Jack Robinson and Nedum Onuoha, who are also out of contract in the summer.
Jamie Mackie, who is 32 years old, has played for QPR on two separate occasions and is a fans’ favourite at Loftus Road. He first joined them in 2010 from Plymouth Argyle and was pivotal in their Championship promotion season in 2010/11.
He then left them in 2013 to join Nottingham Forest, but returned to the London side in June 2015. The Scottish striker will now find himself looking for a new club this summer.
The experienced defender James Perch will also be a free agent. The 32-year-old joined QPR in 2015 from Wigan Athletic, having previously played for Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
The final player to depart from QPR in June is Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. His career at Loftus Road has stalled and he has struggled to get into the team, mainly because he has been unfortunate with injuries. He has spent the last couple of seasons out on loan at MK Dons and then Gillingham.
QPR fans will be hoping that they perform better next season and there is no doubt that it will be a summer of transition at Loftus Road, with plenty of comings and goings.
