League One is home to some great managers and many who deserve a chance of managing at a higher level. Here are five-
Darrell Clarke, Bristol Rovers- Young managers need to be given more opportunities in the top two divisions and Clarke is one who deserves it. He has guided Bristol Rovers from the National League to League One since he took over them in 2014. His side now compete in the top half of the third tier.
Derek Adams, Plymouth Argyle- The Scottish boss has done an impressive job with Plymouth. They missed out on promotion to League One in his first season but he bounced back to guide them to the third tier at the second time of asking. His side are now on the brink of the Play-Offs and in contention for a promotion to the Championship.
Paul Cook, Wigan Athletic- He has done excellent jobs with Accrington Stanley, Chesterfield, Portsmouth and now Wigan. It looks like his Latics side will be promoted to the Championship this season, so he will get the chance he deserves in the second division in the next campaign.
Paul Hurst, Shrewsbury Town- The 43-year-old has guided Shrewsbury Town, who were one of the favourites for relegation at the start of the season, to 2nd in the league now and into the final of the Checkatrade Trophy. It would be some story if he got the Shrews into the Championship and he should be a man in demand in the future.
