West Ham United have Fulham goalkeeper firmly on their radar

West Ham United are interested in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, according to The Sun.

The Hammers boss David Moyes was spotted at Fulham’s game against Leeds United on Tuesday, believed to be keeping a keen eye on players such as Tom Cairney and Ryan Fredericks. However, it is their goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli who he may have been watching as well.

The 25-year-old has forced his way into Fulham’s first-team and has impressed for them this season. He has been a key reason why Slavisa Jokanovic has guided his Cottagers side into promotion contention.

He started his career at Fulham and has never left them on a permanent basis. He has had loan spells away from Craven Cottage at Dartford and Accrington Stanley, where he gained valuable first-team experience.

Over the past two seasons Bettinelli has mainly been used as a back-up goalkeeper for Fulham but in this campaign he has grasped his opportunity and performed for the London side.

Bettinelli, who is an England U21 international, is now reportedly a target for Premier League side West Ham. One of their current goalkeepers is Joe Hart who will return to Manchester City at the expiry of his loan at the end of the season. Therefore, the Hammers will be wanting a new ‘keeper in the summer.

Fulham fans will be hoping they can hold onto Marcus Bettinelli in the summer, despite top flight interest in him.
