Three clubs Mick McCarthy could manage next season in the Football League

Mick McCarthy will leave Ipswich Town at the end of the season. He is keen on managing another club in the next campaign, according to talkSPORT. Here are three clubs he could potentially join-

Barnsley- McCarthy was born in Barnsley and started his career with the Tykes. He went onto play over 250 games for them in his playing days. They are currently battling to stay in the Championship under Jose Morais. They were linked with him when they were searching for a new manager after Paul Heckingbottom’s departure to Leeds. Could they move in for him in the summer?

Sheffield Wednesday- The Owls are managed by Jos Luhukay at the moment but he has not been able to make a positive impact at Hillsborough. The former Hertha Berlin and Stuttgart boss’s long term future at the club is in doubt and Sheffield Wednesday could potentially move for McCarthy. He is from Yorkshire and is vastly experienced at this level. Therefore, he is a decent option for the Owls.

Scunthorpe United- The League One side have appointed Nick Daws as their manager until the end of the season but it is yet to be known who they will go for in the long-term. If they are promoted to the Championship then they could be tempted to move for McCarthy. He would keep them up if they do go up.
